Muskrat photo is in the Public DomainMy creek flooded again today, second time this spring, and also only the second time in the 3 years I have lived here. I know there is a muskrat den in the bank opposite the house, and I have seen a muskrat diving down underwater to the entrance to the den several times as I have walked across my bridge to get the mail.
Today I saw 2 muskrats at the same time! The larger one was in the watery weeds near the den entrance area, and the smaller one was swimming frantically against the current on the house side. I suspect it is an offspring from this year, and I think the den must be flooded.
